Transportation of the horse is to be provided by the client. Please contact the Pines for transportation options. The Pines does not transport horses to the Pines. The vet can meet the horse here for euthanasia. This will be performed as close to the gravesite as possible.
We will permit the family to have a memorial placed on the Horse Memorial. It must be purchased through the Pines and can be only our standard granite, 16 x 8, v-line border, all polished. We will chose the exact site for placement. There is NO cost for this service other than the cost of the memorial. It is a courtesy provided by the cemetery for horses or ponies interred in Country Burial.
The Pines Country Burial is located on the Pines adjoining 15 acre area on the western perimeter of the cemetery. All burials are performed by properly trained personnel. There is a designated remembrance memorial bench to leave flowers, toys and any item that your beloved horse/pony enjoyed.
About Horse or Pony Interment
The burial of a horse or pony is difficult under the best of circumstances. Due to the amount of grave space required and the continued maintenance problems associated with such a burial, we cannot offer this service within the cemetery proper. However, we can offer a Country Burial, which is done in the adjoing 15 acre area on the western perimeter of the cemetery. The precise area will be selected by either the owners or the groundskeepers. The areas we use cannot under any circumstances be visited or marked. Arrangements should be made in advance whenever posssible. Payment must be received before the opening is prepared, unless special permission is granted from the owners or person in charge.
